Mom just returned from the Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida last week and there was a lot of talk about CATS for a change! Using her fashion lingo, she said that cats were very much “on trend!”
Mom was saying the other day that she has a lot of people to thank for helping her in so many ways during her journey into the feline world. You have to understand that my human mom went from having cats growing up and into early adulthood – to having no cats from 1978 to 2015 – that’s 37 years with no felines in her life.
This week the global community of animal lovers and advocates will celebrate World Animal Day. Started in Italy during the 1920s, it has now grown to be a worldwide social movement to raise the status of all animals in order to improve animal welfare standards around the globe.
Did you know August 8th is International Cat Day? It was started in 2002 by theInternational Fund for Animal Welfare to raise awareness for us felines and to learn ways to help and protect us!
Mom says that according to the rescue groups, it’s a huge kitten season! The shelters and adoption groups are overflowing with kittens up for adoption – so if you are thinking of adding a kitten to your family, NOW is the purrfect time to do it!
This idea will sound absurd to many of you as we all know us cats don’t necessarily travel well. So, as crazy as it sounds, what’s behind the idea of having pets at work?
As I watch mom prep for the Meow Mini Mart pop-up shop at the Biker Cat Club of Long Island show this weekend, it makes me think back to how we got here and why.
Come 2019, we will be around for two years – I can’t believe how fast the time has gone! Mom thinks it’s now a good time to reflect back on these last two years.
